Summer nails

Color is an amazing thing, you may not wear a certain color by itself, for example...orange; but when different colors are placed together, they can actually complement really well. Experimenting with colors to create your own distinctive pallets make your art personal and unique.

These nails are marbled with acrylic and embedded with tiny and large diamontes.

School Theme on the Edge

The school theme must've been one of the most challenging theme I've had to do in a competition. I took a risk by going against the conventional square nails and did some books on the edge. Wish I had more time to work on the details but it's definitely a fun set to do. This placed 3rd in veteran.

Handpainted Talents !

This year's AMERICAN THEME handpainted category in Las Vegas comps for veteran really left a very deep impression on me because of the flawless quality of workmanship of these very outstanding nail artists. Not only they have demonstrated a very high level of skill in their craft but the composition and details of the nail art was perfect. Looking at these nails could keep me in awe and mesmerized for hours ! Amazing work !

VivCat Designer Nail Extravaganza in Las Vegas was a Blast !

WOW!!! We could not have asked for more!!! It is such a pleasure and soooo rewarding when you take a class FULL of such talented & passionate nail artists from USA, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Sweden, Ukraine & the UK ! We had an amazing day! Viv Simmonds and Catherine Wong performed 3 designer nails demonstrations each on the first 6 attendees to enrol. Our designs covered Gel etching, Gel design, Acrylic Engraving, Acrylic Imbedded and Acrylic 3d.
With the exception of a technical glitch in the morning with the monitor not co-operating with the video, we were up and running by lunch with a display screen for viewing our demo's as well as those wishing to stand around to watch. We had networking going on and other artists bringing their own unique skills and talents to the table. We swapped advise, techniques and shared many a good laugh!!!
In the afternoon, the attendees were able to sit and practice some of the techniques shown while Catherine and Viv walked around assisting individuals. We gave out posters and signed them, we took photo's upon photo's and we shared heaps of hugs!
It was sad to see the day come to an end, as it passed so fast! We are now looking forward to the next class where we can catch up with you all again and also get to meet more of you in person!!!

Team Odyssey Nailed Top Spots at Nailpro Competition

It could not have been a more challenging Nailpro competition season with so many international competitors, both novice and veteran division. It's a very humbling experience to see so many amazing entries and to compete amongst the best in the industry. I personally love the friendship forged outside of the competition arena and be able to meet all these amazing talents that this industry has to offer.

The High Road To Education (HRTE) is a two-day workshop originated in USA by Tammy Warner. This program advocates interactive demonstration and hands-on application. The goal is to bring a diverse group of experienced, successful Nail Professionals together in one place, and have them share their knowledge, techniques and insights with other Nail Technicians. All the Educators are practicing technicians, and each brings his or her own special techniques, perspective and experience to the class.

Nail Studio Makeover

We spent 4 days working on this makeover for the nail studio, it's more spacious now and I could live here ! More work to be done in the classroom but that will have to wait till I catch my breath.

New Designs

I'm super exhausted this week working on new designs, but enjoying every moment of it! It's such a joy working with my hand models and my sis has been such a great help and motivation in translating these work into pictures. Here's a sneak peek of some of it taken with my own digital camera, I'm too excited to share this on my blog and I can't wait for the actual pictures to be poster ready :)

Creativity is flowing

I've redecorated my nail studio, cleared up heaps of nail stuff that I've bought and collected over the years and received some more new collections of colors and great stuff. I'm very excited to work on more new, radical designs and in the midst of working on a nail design book with my good friend Viv Simmonds. It's due to be released in September, hopefully !
