VIVCAT Gold Coast, Australia

The very first VivCat class Down Under was pretty intense. We introduced a few techniques that has never been done in a VivCat class before - Watercolor Effect, Bubble Nail, Jeans Effect, Snakeskin, Wet Nails, Jewel Nails, Silknails, 3D etc... and all attendees did so well, it was a full hands-on class!

We used Odyssey products for demo but all attendees could use whatever they are comfortable with, so everyone had just as much fun with Harmony, Indigo, NfuOh, YoungNails, Lish and all the regular favorites. The point is to learn design techniques and empower them with creativity, ideas and fun.

VivCat launched a few goodies for the class too. Our first Mixed Media step-by-step Competition Series to teach newbies how to compete and prepare their design work in this particular category. Also proudly presenting the VivCat Designer Pallete to store your gel paints or water paint - great for travelling or use in salon where your gel mixtures can be saved for later. The black coating prevents gel from curing. Viv and I cannot live without it now and everyone has been asking for them.
You can purchase it at  http://nailqueenblingbox.blogspot.com

Viv mixing on the pallete which is also washable (or clean with Gel Cleaner)

The bold and the beautiful from our class, Thank you all - the event was a great success and so much fun because of your passion !
We'll be back xxx

Global Nail Design Awards Gold Coast, Australia

The 3rd Global Nail Design Awards (GNDA) was held in Gold Coast in April at the Twin Towns Resort. The weather was supposed to be nice and cool around 20degrees Celcius unfortunately it started to rain non-stop the day we arrived and the weather only cleared up on the day that we were leaving Gold Coast.

I had the pleasure of judging the Poster competition, Flat Art, Fantasy Art, Sculptured Nails and Gel Manicure. Did not judge 3D !
I have to say that the Poster entries in the Masters level this year was phenomenal - very inspired and excited to see the next one and to get all my novice girls to start competing.

The turnout for this year's competition was great despite the gloomy weather.
Majority being Australians, there were also contestants from Japan and Malaysia and entries from as far as Germany and Singapore.
It was such a great pleasure to catch up with friends and industry professionals.
Congratulations to all who participated in the competition and especially to everyone who placed, job well done especially to Olga Menshikova who won the Overall Champion once again !

Also Congratulatons to our educators and Singapore team who made top 3 in the art categories ! (Yoko - 2nd Flat Nail Art Open, Erica - 1st 3D Nail Art Masters and Jess - 3rd 3D Nail Art Masters)

Do check out the next Global Nail Design Awards in Melbourne in October 2012
